SHIRALEE HOOD

We are excited to welcome SHIRALEE HOOD the Aunty Marg Henry Stage at Giiyong Festival on Saturday 22 November – joining Dane Simpson to make up our main stage MC duo. Shiralee is a Noongar Kurnai Gunditjmara comedian, writer, director and cultural educator.

Shiralee will keep the laughs coming with hilarious stories, her super sharp wit and her outrageously funny take on life.

Shiralee is a Melbourne-based comedian and MC whose sharp wit and fearless storytelling have entertained audiences across Australia. A proud First Nations performer, she was the national winner of the 2009 Deadly Funny competition and brought her trademark energy to the stage as host of the 2012 VIPA Awards. Her comedy draws on lived experiences, offering bold, culturally grounded humour that resonates with a wide range of audiences.

With a strong presence in the national comedy circuit, Shiralee has headlined solo shows including Shiralee Hood Is All Fired Up! at the Canberra Comedy Festival, showcasing her natural comedic timing and unique perspective. Beyond the stage, she is also an accomplished actor, director and a respected radio presenter on 3CR’s award-winning Beyond the Bars program. Whether performing at festivals, community events or corporate functions, Shiralee delivers unforgettable entertainment with authenticity, humour and heart.
