Nikea Brooks-Hayes & Dre Wicks

LOCAL TALENT TO WATCH

Nikea Brooks-Hayes and Dre Wicks have both just started year 12 at Eden Marine High School. They’ve been playing music together for a number of years and are an exciting young duo emerging in the south coast music scene. Both live in Eden NSW, and together they share a love for Music connection to Family, Culture and Country.

Nikea is a young Yuin, Bidwall Maap woman and is recognized in the area for her incredible and mature vocal skills. Nikea and Dre have a feature track on the album DJAMAGA MUSIC called ‘RIGHTS’, released by South East Arts in 2021.

Dre Wicks is a young Yuin man who is a multi-instrumentalist and community leader. Dre is a confident performer who believes in the power of music as a pathway to reconnection to culture. He has been fortunate to have been assisted in his journey through programs like Grow the Music, Manamaa and private lessons supported by Uncle Ossie Cruse and Robin Cruse.

Nikea and Dre have been performing locally any chance they can, don't miss them at Giiyong Festival at Jigamy on 9 April.
